We warmly congratulate Inese Bērziņa, Ernests Valts Circenis, and Kaspars Eglītis, recipients of the VV Foundation Award for their performance RETRACING AND RESOUNDING at Riga Performance Festival Starptelpa.
The concept of the performance was based on the increasing noise pollution, especially in urban environments. Symbolically using the sacred space of a church, the performance’s authors invited the audience to participate in an interactive process of decluttering and sound-making as a ritual of purification.
The winners were decided by an international jury consisting of John G. Boehme, Emmanuelle Waeckerle, and Laurel Jay Carpenter.
We celebrate the winners’ achievement, wish them continued success in their work, and look forward to seeing them next year in PAiR Residency in Pāvilosta!
