Lielā is one of the strongest representatives of realistic figural painting in Latvia, as well as one of the most outstanding painters of nature. Landscape – forest, sea, meadow – these have always be within the area of interest of the painter and she has attempted to impersonate dialogue between nature and human in her works. Her painting is inspired by existential sensation regarding the relations between the bodily and the spiritual, the environment and the space around us.
