Leonhard Lapin is also well known as a dissident, whose art was denied by the state. He mixed pop art with references to the Russian avant-garde of the 20s of the 20th century. The works of the artist became more and more politicised as the time passed, ignoring the utopian images approved by the state and challenging artistic repressions.
