Pēteris Sidars is one of the most interesting textile artists of Latvia. In the initial period of his creative work, he created bright, classical tapestries, and later more and more often addressed the investigation of material structures and new technologies. Sidars uses different materials in reaching for new dimensions in textile arts and is involved in synthesis of incompatible objects by experimenting with natural forms and structures. The artist also creates objects and installations.
