Evita Vasiljeva

2016
Object. Glass, plywood, drawing ink, plaster, pigment, fabric, plastic, wood, adhesive tape, electric installation . 68 x 82 x 17 cm.

The sculptures of Vasiļjeva are made of different materials, but the use of these materials is not an accident. Robust and brutal forms interact with fragile, almost intangible factures – blocks of concrete against fine and sharp reinforcement bars, thick rubber against volatile foam, all elements of external world against intensive internal message.
Robust and fragile, seemingly moving sculpture is a plaster cast information multiplication device, inspired by rubber rugs of car interior.
