Untitled
Kristians Fukss
The paintings of Kristians Fukss can be characterised by a world of remote feelings inhabited by
specific characters. They frequently appear as just black shadows – permeated into the memory
forever. This work from the collection is part of the artist’s interpretation in the installation
dedicated to the novel by Marsel Proust “In Search of Lost Time”. From Proust, Fukss has taken a
childishly playful look at the world around us, endowed it with his hypersensitive imagination, and
merged it into an autobiographic narrative. Through visual games with the character of Mickey
Mouse, which is at the core of the painting language of Fukss, he transforms characters of the novel
of Proust into fairy tale characters, which send messages of humanly complicated relations,
intellectual topics and dreamy cognitions.
