During the week of April 13–19, the first Annual Art Award of Latvia Art Week took place in the city of Valmiera, featuring exhibitions, discussions, and public events that celebrated and reflected on the development of contemporary art in Latvia. The inaugural Annual Art Award of Latvia was a landmark initiative that put a spotlight on the vital role of contemporary art in Latvia, highlighting the year’s most notable events and figures.
We would like to extend our warm congratulations to the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art on the nomination of its mediator programme for the Annual Art Award of Latvia in the category “Best Educational or Socially Engaged Art Project”.
For several years, VV Foundation has proudly supported this programme, which plays an important role in strengthening dialogue between contemporary art and its audiences, making Survival Kit festival exhibitions more accessible, open, and meaningful for diverse communities. We warmly congratulate the entire LCCA and Survival Kit teams on the nomination.
