Roberts Rūrāns (1990, Latvia) is one of the brightest Latvian illustrators with a portfolio that bears evidence of passion for different periods and ideas of art history – starting from the deconstruction of form characteristic of modernism up to references to the aesthetics of western Renaissance and pre-renaissance manuscripts. He has made illustrations for multiple popular journals of the world, including The New Yorker, Vogue, Le Monde, NATO, The Olympic Games, Coca-Cola, Apple, Hermès and others. In 2021, the prestigious American newspaper The New York Times has ranked his work among best illustrations published in magazines during the year.
