Reinis Bērziņš
1989, Latvia
Reinis Bērziņš (born 1989, Riga) is a visual artist whose practice bridges painting, sound, and sculptural elements. He holds a Master’s degree in Painting from the Art Academy of Latvia (2021, with distinction).
Bērziņš explores the boundaries between abstraction and reality, focusing on bodily experience, our relationship with nature, and the quiet acceptance of absurdity. His works often merge borders of abstraction and reality, our bodily experience, relationship with nature and the presence and acceptance of absurdity.
He has presented two solo exhibitions: Unpainted / Nekrāsots at Careva Contemporary and at Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis. His sound compositions and kinetic live-sound installations have also featured in theatre scenography and in RIBOCA2 as part of Agnese Krivade’s The Hotel of St. Christopher.
Bērziņš’s works are held in private collections in Latvia and Belgium.
