Helena Heinrihsone

Painter Helēna Heinrihsone (1948, Latvia) studied at Janis Rozentals Riga Art School and, in 1973, graduated from the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia. She is active in painting, water colours and lithography. She also created animations for the films of Roze Stiebra. The artist has been participating in exhibitions since 1972, she has organised several important personal exhibitions in Latvia and elsewhere in the world, including exhibitions at Latvian National Museum of Art in 1990 and 2007. In 1993 Heinrihsone painted the altar painting of Kolka Lutheran Church. She has been nominated for Purvītis Prize several times, received other important awards, she is the Bearer of the Order of the Three Stars.
