Atis Jākobsons

Atis Jakobsons (1985) resides and works in Riga and Berlin. Since his graduation from the Art Academy of Latvia Painting Department master’s programme in 2010 up to now, his creative practice has been based on the traditions of painting, however, during the last five years, he has also experimented in parallel with other media and forms of expression – coal drawings, sculptures, ceramics, spatial installations, as well as experiments with sound. Jakobsons was nominated for the
Purvitis Prize several times, in 2012, 2015, and 2017.
