On April 1 in Riga, at Bar “1983”, the VV Foundation-supported philosophy magazine Tvērums will launch its 13th issue, “Spēle”. The evening will be dedicated to play in its broadest sense — as a form of thinking, strategy, and joy.

The new issue is inspired by the logic and unpredictability of play. Referring to Riga-born world chess champion Mikhail Tal, known for his bold and seemingly inexplicable moves, this issue has also been created as a long, multi-layered “game”, the result of which reveals itself only over time.

The launch event will offer not only the opportunity to get acquainted with the new issue, but also to participate in various games and activities throughout the evening — from board and video games to improvised and collective game situations.
