Manasseh, from the series “In the Truth”

“Do not destroy me because of my transgressions,
don’t be mad at me forever
do not look so harshly on my evil deeds,
do not condemn me to the abyss of the underworld
for you, Lord God, forgive those who return.”
(Prayer of Manasseh 13)
